10 steps to a good mood

Even if you are the most fervent optimist, I bet you at least once experienced feelings of depression and apathy; people call it a bad mood. Especially for when you want nothing more than to lie down and cry, I have made a list of 10 steps to a good mood.

  1. Make a playlist.

A playlist of sad songs will help you unload the negativity, maybe cry, and release the sadness. If you still don’t want to sink further into that state, then create a playlist of positive songs to lift your spirits. Plus, the process itself is incredibly addictive and distracts from the negativity.

  1. Do a warm-up.

Physical activity promotes the production of endorphins – happy hormones, which are clearly lacking if you’re in a bad mood.

  1. Call a friend.

Personally, I have a best friend who makes me smile and laugh all the time when I talk to her, even if I was crying a minute ago. So when I’m in a bad mood, I always call her. We talk about everything, and I just forget what sadness and sorrow are.

  1. Eat a favorite goodie.

It seems to me that the food we eat has a great effect on how we feel. So if you eat a dish that you adore, your mood will certainly improve.

  1. Take a walk.

Walking in the fresh air is very helpful. And even if your mood doesn’t improve, you’ll still get plenty of oxygen. And maybe you’ll meet someone important.

  1. Take a break from social media.

Social media is full of negativity. News, people’s stories… All of this undoubtedly affects our mood. Taking a break from constant comparisons of yourself to someone else, crime stories, etc., you will realize how much unnecessary information surrounds you.

  1. Get creative.

Creativity is a skillful way to get rid of negativity and create something new. It may not turn out exactly as you planned, but don’t stop. Maybe it will even develop into something meaningful not only for you but also for society.

  1. Do some charity work.

It is proven that good deeds help not only the object of your help but also you. Take your old things or toys to an orphanage (if possible, buy new ones). Buy pet food and feed homeless cats or dogs. And you will not notice how happy you will be.

  1. Let`s meditate.

Meditation not only reduces stress levels but also leads to a “cleansing” of thoughts. Let all the negativity come out slowly with each of your exhalations.

  1. Thank you.

Write your gratitude list for yourself, your friends, family, and friends. You can give thanks for anything, for any little thing. And it’s easy. You just have to start.

But remember that prolonged apathy is a reason to see a doctor for help!
