There are many sorrowful dates in the history of our people, the memory of which pierces the heart with sharp pain. One of them – on April 26, 1986, on this day, exactly 30 years ago, the Chernobyl fire burned the earth and the souls of millions of citizens. The Chernobyl accident is the largest man-made catastrophe in the history of nuclear energy, which has changed the radiation situation, the environment, the fate of people not only on the European continent, but also around the world.

The Chernobyl catastrophe is an incurable “wound” of our people, the pain of which is passed from generation to generation and every year more and more people realize its true scale, more and more people affected by radiation go away into eternity.

The Chernobyl tragedy crippled the fate and took away the health of our compatriots, leaving behind pain and emptiness. Chernobyl divided the lives of all mankind into “before” and “after.” However, life goes on… And we owe it to those people who shielded us from terrible misfortune. We, Ukrainians, must remember and respect the heroes we live by today. The feat of these people is forever written in the annals of human courage; it will forever remain in the memory of the Ukrainian people.

We bow our heads before the feat of those who laid down their lives in the fight against nuclear hell. Sincere respect to those who are struggling every day with the terrible diseases caused by the catastrophe. And may future generations always remember the lessons of Chernobyl, so that our land will always have a peaceful, clear sky, and peace, happiness and prosperity will reign in every Ukrainian home.

Let’s honor the participants of the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident and the eternal memory of the victims of the Chernobyl disaster!
