Student life in the quarantine is different from the usual. My grandmother always speaks well of her university years. She has fond memories of her dormitory, she remembers the girls she lived in the same room with, her classmates and ‘gentlemen.’

Personally, I do not have such ideal thoughts about my student life. Because during distance learning you have to communicate with classmates only online and most often on learning issues. However, there is a dormitory, a place where you can really feel like a student. This is a place where until recently a schoolboy became an adult and learned to live independently.

I was always happy because I went to study elsewhere, and that’s why I live in a dormitory. I was able to get out of my comfort zone and learn to live ‘freewheelingly.’

So what is this student life in the present-day dormitory. I will try to tell about it in 4 points.

Firstly, a dormitory is four people in one room. Shared refrigerator, provided you buy it or you are lucky and it has been already placed in your room.

Secondly, students are open people, so washing in a common shower becomes a habit for them. However, in the first year it is still a bit unusual and not comfortable, but students are people who are used to everything.

Thirdly, in our dorm, oddly enough, there is a shared kitchen. Here I was able to learn how to cook for myself, because at home I did not show much my cooking skills. And there it is simply necessary, and it has some special coloring. When students gather in the same kitchen, they cook dinner to music together, laugh and have fun, and then have dinner together. This only happens in students` dormitories.

Fouthly, a dormitory is a place where you can find new friends, sometimes even love. When you desperately need something, you can find it in your numerous neighbors.

A ‘chilly dormy’ is an integral part of student life. Going to university is one thing, and living in a dormitory is quite another. In my opinion, it is through the dormitory that real students are known.
