A very heartfelt, touching and sweet story about first love, the search for freedom, family problems, deception, pain and disappointment. Medeline has not left home since childhood. Her illness is rare but very dangerous. In short, the girl is allergic to the world, and no one can know what exactly causes the reaction – pollen, fruit or cigarette smoke.

Maddie is quite happy with her position because she has a wonderful loving mother, with whom it is so fun to play board games and watch TV series. She has her own nurse, Clara, who has become almost a member of the family. But one day a new family moves into the house next door, and Maddie sees a nice guy – graceful, gloomy and confident. The girl quickly learns from fragments of conversations that his name Ollie, every minute of the schedule of his parents and sister. She witnesses an unpleasant scene involving his father.

Ollie also notices a neighbor and even finds a way to contact her. They quickly find common ground, and their correspondence causes a considerable dose of emotion. There were some points in the book that were not entirely clear, for example, where the main character took so much money to dispose of it in so a free way.

And still I did not like the behavior of Medeline, who knew in advance what was going on, but at the first danger threw everything. After all, she knew perfectly well how it could end, and she was ready for this result …

As a result, in general, I liked the book, and certainly caused some thoughts and made me think about many things. The ending was a bit confusing, because I wanted a more definite finale, although it is not difficult to guess how it will end. If you want to get decent reading on an interesting topic, you are welcome!
