My ‘Little Prince’

(Blog article)

Today in my blog I will tell you my impressions of the book ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Let’s start with the fact that ‘The Little Prince’ is the most famous work of Antoine de Saint-Exupery and is a book that has been read by a large number of people. It is also part of the high school curriculum.

‘The Little Prince’ has a special place in the work of the writer-pilot. The little book, written shortly before Exupery’s death, is not at all like other fairy tale books. The “children’s” tale is wise and human. And its author is not only a poet but also a philosopher.

This book is very instructive. It tells the story of a little boy who traveled to different planets. He visited the planets inhabited by an ambitious man, a drunkard, a lantern maker, a geographer, a king, and so on. The Little Prince’s planet was the size of a house. It housed him, his rose, one extinct and two active volcanoes. The most exciting planet was the Earth, where the boy met the pilot, Fox and Snake. The Prince took a lot of useful things from his trip.

I was most impressed by the prince’s journey to our planet – the Earth. I was touched by the boy’s attitude to the rose. The main character of the work is characterized by openness, purity, wisdom, but he is lonely. His planet is very small. On Earth, the boy learned to take care of the flower and make friends with the Fox. It was love and devotion that saved the boy from loneliness and gave the meaning to life.

I was especially excited by the writer’s thoughts on friendship. To be friends is always to feel the voice of the heart, to bring joy to another person, to protect him, to trust him. The main theme of the fairy tale is the spirituality of people and their callousness and contempt for children’s dreams, aspirations and a special vision of the world around them.

This fairy tale teaches everyone charity, pure trusting friendship and sincere relationships in communication with relatives and friends. It is not necessary to be hostile to the aspirations and thoughts of adults, moving away from them, but on the contrary – to try to understand them.

I recommend that everyone should read it. My rating is 10/10.
