My Tiny Bundle

(essay)

I’ve never liked dogs as much as I had liked cats until I got my little puppy. It was one of the most thrilling and gloomy times in my life. So let’s get back to the dog. It was a little black dachshund with touch-the-soul eyes. She was called Daisy, like a bloom in a garden. She was a tiny bundle, but a crazy tiny bundle. We also called her ‘Vac’ because she ate everything she saw, especially outside, moreover, particularly little rocks…Living with her was like living with a dog-tiger (I live with a cat for 13 years, and she can also be a tiger). So, I was wondering who was the biggest tiger in our household: my little dog or my old cat, stubbornly defending her territory?

I won’t lie if I say that I fall in love with her from the first sight. She was so wee; you can just imagine how adorable she was. Day by day, fight by fight (dog vs cat, not me vs dog) Daisy was growing up. She knew few commands like “to me,” “sit down.” I always went outside with her and when there was a rainy day she always was against our walks, so I carried her. These were lovely moments. Nevertheless, there were also depressive minutes, as I said before. While Daisy was maturing, she was always biting me. It was painful a bit, and my arms and legs were always covered with cicatrixes. At these moments, she was completely crazy. Nothing could stop her. She didn’t let my cat live: Daisy always ate cat food and silicone filler for toilet. So my cat was in an extremely nerve-racking situation. In addition, Daisy didn’t miss any chance to bark at my old cat.

And you’re probably embarrassed why I wrote everything in the past tense. I’ll tell you. Two and a half months afterwards, we got Daisy; my Dad found out that he was allergic to her fur. We were supposed to give Daisy to another careful family. That was another arduous step for us because she was already a part of our family. Now, a year after we told her “Goodbye,” I still miss my tiny bundle. In addition, I’ll never forget this phenomenal period of my life, even with those ups and downs.
