Book Land is an all-Ukrainian festival about books, publishing and important social topics. Here you can not only buy your favorite books but also attend lots of different activities.

The festival took place at VDNG from April 24 to 27, 2025. This was already the third edition of Book Land and it turned into one of the biggest book events in Ukraine. For many visitors it was their first-ever book festival. In 2024, Book Land was held twice and brought together over 140 000 people.

This year’s program included more than 300 events: book launches and author signings, discussions and public interviews, workshops and open readings, ad-hoc and book club meetings.

One of the main themes for 2025 was the war and frontline literature. The program featured war-themed theater performances, book presentations by soldiers and about soldiers, interactive installations and poetry evenings.

The festival’s program for teens has also grown a lot. Young readers had even more events to join: storytelling workshops, board games, virtual reading zones, book blogging workshops.

Book Land also stunned with its design — the VDNG space was decorated with fantasy-inspired flower photo zones, giant props, and mirror installations. It was perfect for bright photos and lasting memories.

This festival proved that even in tough times, Ukrainians kept on publishing books, sharing their stories and supporting one another.
