‘Career without drama and trauma’ by Anna Mazur and Nastya Pasenko

(book review)

Hi, guys! We haven’t heard for a while. I’m sure you missed me. Thus, I have a new book to read for you. It will be interesting for people who begin finding their dream job and for people who don’t like their job. It’s called ‘Career without drama and trauma.’ Furthermore, it has been written by Anna Mazur and Nastya Pasenko.

Anna Mazur is the founder and executive director of the Happy Monday career portal, a guest lecturer at the MIM business school, and a TEDxLviv speaker. For more than ten years, she has been working with issues of professional implementation and employment of people of various ages and professions.

Nastya Pasenko is an online media editor of the Happy Monday career portal and a copywriter. She loves writing texts and has been working with them all her professional life.

In this book, the authors talk about how to understand yourself and not only provide tools for career development and give advice that allows you to feel happier at work. However, it shares stories of people who show by example that our career is in our hands. The text is easy to read, and it doesn’t have spam. Everything is clear and structured. While reading the book, I felt like I chatted with my friends, and they just gave me advice. The book has five parts and 19 chapters. It tells you about career development, how to choose your field, which types of work exist, and advises how to build the career of your dream.

My favorite quote “The world is changing so fast that it is better to move in short segments and keep pace with the world than to strive for something that may not exist in 10 years.” It shows that you don’t need to be afraid to change your field of work just because you have been working there for your whole life. If you aren’t happy with your work, go ahead and find a new one. Go and change your field! The world loves changes.

This book opened my eyes to working reality. I know how finding a job works in Ukraine. I know how to write a good resume. I know that it’s okay to change your job, if you want. And the best for me is that it’s a Ukrainian book, so it’s about working exactly in my country.

So my rating for this book is 10/10, and I recommend reading it to every student who searches for a job right now.

The next book review will be on Wednesday, and you will like that book!
