(An altered fairy tale)
Once upon a time there were two mice – Kindrat and Chubchyk, and a rooster Dobrynia. The mice were all about dancing and singing. And the rooster would get up at dawn, wake everyone up with a song and get to work. Once he was sweeping the yard and found a wheat ear.
“Kindrat, Chubchyk!” the rooster began to crow, look what I found!
The mice came running and said:
“If only we could thresh it…”
“And who will thresh it?” asks the rooster.
“I’m busy!” says one mouse.
“Me too!” says the second mouse.
“I will thresh,” says the rooster to them and starts working, while the mice keep on playing.
So the rooster threshes the ear and calls out again:
“Hey, Kindrat, hey, Chubchyk, come and see how much grain I threshed!”
The mice сome running and saying: “We need to carry the grain to the mill and grind flour.”
“And who will carry it?” asks the rooster.
“Sorry, I’m tired!” says Kindrat.
“I’m tired too!” repeats Chubchyk.
“Well, then I’ll carry it,” says the rooster. He takes the sack on his shoulder and goes away. And the mice are still hopping around – playing in the long vine. In the evening, the rooster comes home and calls the mice again:
“Hey, Kindrat, hey, Chubchyk I brought flour.”
The mice run closer and start rejoicing:
“Oh, cockerel! Now we need to knead the dough and bake pies.”
“Who will knead it?” asks the cockerel.
And the mice answer again:
“I can’t do it now!” squeals Kindrat.
“Neither do I!” squeaks Chubchyk.
On reflection, the rooster says:
“I guess I’ll have to do it.”
So the cockerel kneads the dough, brings firewood and lights it in the oven. And when the oven is hot, he bakes the well-smelling pies.
The mice are busy at this moment and keep on singing songs, dancing, and rejoicing.
When the pies are baked, the rooster take them and put them on the table. Wow! The mice are already here. And there is no need to call them.
“Oh, and I’m hungry!” shouts Kindrat.
“I’m hungry too!” shouts Oscar.
And they sit down to the table.
And the rooster says:
“Wait, wait, wait! You tell me first who found the spikelet.”
“You,” say the mice.
“And who threshed it?”
“You did,” Jerry and Oscar say more quietly.
“And who kneaded the dough? Who heated the oven? Who baked the pies?”
“You,” the mice whisper almost silently.
“And what did you do?”
“You see, meanwhile, while we were pretending to play and not to help you, we were actually helping the country by making traps for the enemies of Ukraine in Donbas! The Foxie also says that for us she prepares a platform to buy and sell the cryptocurrency called ‘Bitcoin,’ or whatever it is…We`ll start making money there together, but later. Now, we are to defeat the Russian invaders, and then we will make cash on Bitcoin and celebrate our victory!
“Ouch! In this case there are no questions, hold the pies,” says Dobrunia the rooster to the mice. “I see that you can brainstorm and rack your brains!”
