5 films and series about the life of the Queen and her royal family

On September 8, it became known about the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Therefore, today I have prepared you films and series about this charming woman and her family.

1. “Korona,” 2016 – to date
The series from Netflix tells the story of the life of the royal family from the wedding of Elizabeth II to Prince Philip in 1947 to the present day.
The first two seasons take place between Elizabeth’s coronation in 1947 and Prince Edward’s birth in 1964.
Seasons three and four follow the lives of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip from the late 1960s to the 1990s. These series focus on the characters Margaret Thatcher and Lady Diana Spencer.
The fifth season is expected in 2022. However, in connection with the death of the queen, filming was temporarily suspended.

2. “Spencer: The Secret of Princess Diana,” 2021
A biographical drama about three days in the life of Princess Diana, when she decides to end her marriage to Prince Charles, who at the time was having an affair with Duchess Camilla Parker-Bowles. The tape briefly shows the role Elizabeth II played in the divorce.

3. “Queen,” 2006
It is impossible not to mention the tape, for the role in which Helen Mirren won the Oscar. The events take place after the death of Princess Diana in 1997. The royal family chooses which position to take during the public mourning of Diana, because she was no longer considered a member of the royal family. The decision of Prime Minister Tony Blair, played by Michael Sheen, saved the image of the monarchy in the eyes of the public.

4. Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance, 2018
The documentary is about Meghan’s desire to find herself and her role in the royal family. The ridicule of society, the pressure of the royals and the support of Harry – the new reality of the Duchess of Sussex, about which you can learn firsthand.

5. “London Vacation,” 2015
This is one of the few films that tells about the life of Elizabeth II before her coronation. The events unfold on the night of Tuesday, May 8, 1945, when all of Europe celebrates the end of World War II. That night, Elizabeth, together with her younger sister Margaret, escape from the vigilant guard and have fun in London at night.
