An outbreak of hepatitis A has been recorded in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv. As of Friday morning, May 16, 65 patients are known. This was reported by the Deputy Director General.

Hepatitis A is spread through consumption of contaminated food or water that may contain feces from infected people, through poor personal hygiene, or through household contact when an infected person prepares food for the entire family.

The most common symptoms of hepatitis A are weakness and fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, heaviness in the right upper quadrant, dark urine, and jaundice.
