Leo and the Silent Savannah

(miniflash story)

Once, in the golden heart of the African savannah, there lived a young lion named Leo. Unlike other lions, Leo was quiet and thoughtful. While his brothers roared and played, Leo spent his days watching the wind move through the grass and listening to the sounds of the earth.

One year, a great drought struck the land. Rivers dried up, and animals grew weak. The elder lions fought over what was left, but Leo believed there had to be another way. One night, guided by the stars and the memory of an old legend, he set off alone to find the hidden spring deep within the Whispering Hills.

Days passed, and Leo grew tired, but he never gave up. At last, beneath an ancient baobab tree, he found the spring—clear, cool, and still flowing. He roared, not in pride, but in joy, and the sound echoed across the plains.

Leo returned home knowing where to seek water and hope. From that day on, he was no longer the quiet one. He was the lion who was listened to, and because he was listened to, he was respected too. It was he who saved them all.
