We can talk about different principles of business etiquette. Here and pragmatism, and business taste, and expediency, and utilitarianism. But still as the main principle can be called honesty. Above the door of the London Stock Exchange is embossed in marble: “My word is the law.” This can be interpreted as follows: no higher than the law of business than the word given to a partner. Russian merchants who traded at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair entered into agreements on an honest word. And the honest word of the merchant of the first guild was stronger than any bill secured by gold coins. He violated this word and could engage in any activity, except commercial – he was denied trust forever.

In addition to honesty, business etiquette proclaims the following principles.

1. Punctuality (do everything on time).

Only the behavior of a person who does everything on time is normative. Delays interfere with work and are a sign that a person cannot be relied on. Experts recommend adding an extra 25% to the time, which, in your opinion, is required to perform the work.

2. Confidentiality (do not talk too much). The secrets of an institution or a specific agreement must be carefully kept as secrets of a personal nature.
3. Friendliness and friendliness. The general requirement is a friendly and preventive attitude to all colleagues, partners, regardless of personal likes and dislikes. And since every employee is the face of the company, its success depends on the professionalism, friendliness, and impeccable knowledge of the good manners of this person.
4. Attention to others (think of others, ns only about yourself).

Respect the opinion of others, listen to criticism and advice from colleagues, superiors, and subordinates. Show that you value other people’s experiences. Self-confidence should not replace modesty.

5. Image (appearance).

It is desirable to dress with taste and style, to choose color palette to every person, to pick up accessories in a careful way.

6. Literacy (speak and write in a proper language). Internal documents or letters sent outside the institution must be in the high-literature language and all proper names must be transmitted without error.
