Once, after a walk with his dog, Georges de Mestral noticed that he had burdock left on his pants. After examining his discovery under a microscope, the scientist decided to use what he saw.

In 1955 a patent for hook-and-loop fasteners was obtained for the production of the first Velcro. They were far from the modern version and were created by hand. After some time, Velcro became more similar to modern and was mass-produced.

In the early 60’s the invention was seriously interested in solving “space problems.” The astronauts now have the ability to conveniently attach various objects to the walls. Velcro has become widespread for many years.

So, in conclusion… such seemingly insignificant things can really change history and our daily lives.
