(essay)
Our environment is the natural world that surrounds us. It includes the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil we grow our food in, and all the living things that share our planet with us. Unfortunately, our environment is facing many problems today. Especially it relates to Ukraine during this bloody and devastating war.
One of the biggest issues is pollution. Pollution can come in many forms. Air pollution is caused by factories, cars, and other sources that release harmful chemicals into the air. Now it is added by numerous air bombs, missile strikes and artillery shelling caused by irresponsible Kremlin leaders. This can lead to health problems for humans and animals and can also damage plants. Water pollution happens when chemicals, plastic, and other waste are dumped into rivers, lakes, and oceans. This can harm fish and other wildlife, and make the water unsafe for drinking and swimming. Soil pollution occurs when harmful chemicals seep into the ground, which can affect the food we eat.
Another major problem is deforestation. Forests are important because they provide oxygen, store carbon, and are home to many animals and plants. However, many forests are being cut down to make way for farms, roads, and cities. This not only destroys the homes of many animals but also contributes to climate change. And if you get a desire to look at the forests in Donbass region. you will see just only crippled trees without any leaves…I just don`t have any comments…
Climate change is another critical issue. It is caused by the increase in greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun and cause the Earth’s temperature to rise. This can lead to more extreme weather conditions, such as heatwaves, floods, and hurricanes. Climate change also affects animals and plants, forcing them to adapt or move to new areas. Let`s just remember the explosion of Kahovska hydroelectric station in Kherson region. How many lives of common people and animals did it take? Nobody knows, however my heart is still bleeding.
We also have a problem with waste. Every day, people throw away tons of garbage. Much of this waste ends up in landfills, where it can take hundreds of years to decompose. Plastic waste is particularly problematic because it can break down into tiny pieces that harm wildlife. Recycling can help reduce the amount of waste we produce, but not all materials can be recycled, and not everyone recycles. And what will we do with thousands of crashed Russian tanks, APC and other military vehicles after the war? Once again – nobody knows.
Biodiversity loss is another significant issue. Many species of animals and plants are becoming extinct because of habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change. Biodiversity is important because it helps keep ecosystems balanced and provides us with resources like food and medicine.
To protect our environment, we need to take some actions. Firstly, we should drive the Russian invaders away from Ukraine. Secondly, our government should impose laws to limit pollution, protect natural areas, and encourage the use of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power. Individuals should be permitted to use innovative methods in reducing their waste, recycling, using public transportation, and supporting environmentally friendly products and companies.
Education is key. By teaching people about the importance of the environment and how to protect it, we can create a generation of eco-conscious individuals who will work towards a healthier planet. Schools, community organizations, and the media all have a role to play in spreading this message.
In conclusion, our environment is vital to our survival and well-being. It provides us with everything we need to live, but it is under threat from pollution, deforestation, climate change, waste, and biodiversity loss. It especially relates to the Russian-Ukrainian war factor. By taking actions at both the governmental and individual levels and educating others, we can help protect our environment for future generations. Together we should save the world, together we should save Ukraine.
