June 6, 2025, marked the return of Summer Game Fest, and Geoff Keighley once again proved he’s the maestro of gaming hype. Broadcast live from the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, the two-hour showcase was a whirlwind of announcements, surprises, and enough trailers to make any gamer’s heart race.

The event kicked off with a bang as Capcom unveiled Resident Evil 9: Requiem, transporting players back to a hauntingly apocalyptic Raccoon City. Set to release on February 27, 2026, the game promises a chilling experience with its new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, navigating through the zombie-infested city.

Not to be outdone, Techland introduced Dying Light: The Beast, a standalone title that evolved from its DLC origins. Scheduled for release on August 22, this installment promises a fresh, brutal chapter in the beloved zombie survival franchise.

Marvel fans had their moment with the announcement of Deadpool VR, featuring none other than Neil Patrick Harris lending his voice to the Merc with a Mouth. The game promises a fourth-wall-breaking, chaotic experience that only Deadpool can deliver.

For those craving nostalgia, Scott Pilgrim EX made its debut, bringing back the beloved beat-’em-up with new content and a fresh coat of paint. Meanwhile, Capcom surprised fans with Onimusha: Way of the Sword, marking the return of the classic samurai action series.

Indie games also had their spotlight during the Day of the Devs segment. Highlights included Snap and Grab, an ’80s-themed action puzzle game about planning heists using photography, and Big Walk, a quirky multiplayer walking simulator from the creators of Untitled Goose Game.

The event wasn’t just about game reveals. A new business-to-business “thought leader” event was introduced, curated by Geoff Keighley and Christopher Dring.
