The Apartment

(poem)

I’ll leave this place, this room, this bed,
These arms, these thoughts still in my head.
I never learned what words are worth —
I speak my mind, let silence birth.

The alarm — delay it, pull me near,
Whisper lies I want to hear.
Don’t mean the things you say — just play,
Deceive me softly, drift away.

Who are we?
The question rings,
A gaze — a cross of broken things.
Where East and South in stillness meet,
I fake my strength, admit defeat.

Just strangers now, though once we bled
The same old grief we never said.
And yet —
Though nothing stays or can restore —
Beside me lies
The endless shore.
