The Clockmaker of Old London

(story)

In the foggy streets of Victorian London, a humble clockmaker named Arthur Bell lived in a narrow brick shop nestled between a bakery and a bookshop. Every morning, the sound of ticking filled the air as Arthur repaired pocket watches, tower clocks, and musical timepieces.

But Arthur held a secret—his newest invention, a magical clock, could turn back time for exactly one minute. Hidden beneath his workbench, the clock glowed softly with a blue shimmer. Arthur only used it for the noblest reasons: saving a child from falling, preventing a fire, or giving a lost soul one more chance.

One stormy night, the clock went missing. The next morning, Big Ben struck thirteen. Time was breaking apart. Arthur set off on a journey across London’s gaslit alleys, fog-covered bridges, and secret tunnels beneath Westminster to find his creation.

In the end, he found the clock in the hands of a desperate thief who wanted to rewrite his past. Arthur did not punish him—instead, he offered hope. The clock was returned, and time ticked forward once more.
