We knew our endings wouldn’t align,
We knew — but stayed in silent time.
Or was it just your silence there?
Look back — did you even care?

I knew I carried many fears,
You (knew?) but hid behind veneers.
So why begin — if you won’t try?
Tell me, was it just a lie?

One day, “I love you” turned to “better alone,”
And just like that, our “us” was gone.
Did you let even one tear fall —
As I broke beneath it all?
