‘The Matrix’

(film review)

‘The Matrix’ (1999) made a strong impression on me in terms of both its visual design and content. It is not just a science fiction action movie — it is a philosophical parable about freedom of choice, the illusions we live in, and the courage to wake up.

I especially remember the scene where the main character, Neo, has to choose between a red pill and a blue pill. This moment became symbolic not only for the film but also for culture as a whole: the red pill is the truth, no matter how painful it may be, and the blue pill is a comfortable lie. It made me wonder: what kind of “matrix” do we live in every day?

Overall, the film keeps you hooked until the very end. Personally, I have watched it many times and will watch it again.

I would like to separately note the visual effects, which were revolutionary at the time of the film’s release. The bullet time scene became iconic, and the stylization, costumes, and music created a unique atmosphere.

My rating is 10/10
