Time For Love by Holly Williams

(book review)

“It all started with a letter. In the two months since it arrived on her doorstep, she had reread the words written on lilac paper by her friend Rose more than once.” – by Holly Williams “Time for love”

Three love stories set in different time periods. The main characters, who were born on the same day, remain unchanged. And no matter what time they meet, they are twenty and fall madly in love with each other. But inevitably something gets in the way of their happiness: class differences, social roles, ambitions.

Among the popular bestsellers is Holly Williams’ book “Time for Love,” which, in my opinion, is overrated. The book lacks conciseness and structure in the text. This book describes three cases where love is “untimely” and meaningless in the lives of two people who are consumed by circumstances: career, parents, and so on. The author describes all these stories in more or less the same way, which makes the book uninteresting and predictable for the reader. The lack of vivid details, emotions, original conflicts, and deep psychological analysis of the characters has led to the stories merging into one monotonous narrative about the characters’ untimely feelings and traumas. The book left a feeling of wasted time, as the expectations of something special never came true.

My rating is 3/10
