‘When Sakura Blossoms’ by Volodymyr Koval

(book review)

The most fickle thing is a girl’s heart…

Human life is not as simple as it seems, especially in ancient Japan. Japan has always been and will be for us the land of samurai, brave men with katanas and in armor. However, fate does not present hardships that a person could not pass. This is exactly what is written in the book of the Ukrainian author. History is as old as the world, and its solution is the same. However, the most important thing is how each of the heroes tries to solve and pass those tests in order to get what they want.

It is impossible not to say some words about the main character. He began his journey as a socialite poet-turned-musician, but fate forced him to change and become the best samurai in Japan at that time, or maybe it was not fate that forced him to do that. He knew why and for whom he was doing it, why he was going through such suffering. On the other hand, it was a gorgeous girl who captured the young man’s heart, and who so gullibly renounced him and his feelings. It was she who became the trigger for Kotaro, and he, in turn, became her salvation. This book is not so much about love, but about what love can push a person to do and what can come out of it. This book is about personality changes, about changes in priorities and relationships with others, about learning and mistakes. This book is about love and sakura that will finally bloom. My rating is 9/10. I do recommend reading this book…
