Wonderful Woodland, Brave Locals, Greedy Businessman

(flash story)

In Kryvopilla, a small village in the middle of a Carpathian mountainous landscape, lived a small group of people who joined their efforts to preserve the ancient forest that surrounded their fabulous village. This forest was a source of life for all wildlife and an important element of the region’s ecosystem.

Recently, an evil entrepreneur named Zhora Zhaba bought up a large tract of forest with the intention of starting a large-scale logging operation. Local residents, united by a deep sense of belonging to nature, decided to oppose him.

The leaders of the community, Vasylyna and Danilo, started a campaign against Zhora’s destructive plans. Residents of the village began to actively draw the attention of the public and environmental organizations to this problem, organizing pickets and protest actions.

The culmination of events came on the day when Zhaba decided to start felling, without even waiting for the final decision of the authorities. Gathering their forces, the local residents went out to fight for their forest. The clash took place right on the edge of the forest, where protesters stood in the way of Zhaba and his brigade.

But here an unexpected event happened. The natural element itself decided to take part in its own defense. The sky started to darken with dark clouds, and the wind began to howl. It got raining pitchforks making attempts at felling formidable. Zhora’s attempts to carry out his plans were in vain.

The Mother Nature lightning immediately struck Zhora himself. After getting a blackout, before his eyes, the beauty of the forest opened in all its formidable flood fog and fury. He stopped his trucks and looked at the reflection of his lust in nature. Thus, the event turned not only into a conflict between people and an entrepreneur, but also into a fusion of Mother Nature, God and human will to protect the magical mountainous massive.

Since then, the village and its forest have become an example of how a community can stand up for nature and how nature responds to this intervention by helping in its own way. Zhora Zhaba rethought his actions and worked together with local residents to preserve the friendly and at the same time formidable forest, not destroy it.
