However, reading books is important for shaping a conscious society, because through reading various works, we form opinions about events, main characters, and their actions. Each book is a real story. Short TikTok videos will not replace professional cinema for us, just as internet articles will not replace full-fledged books.

Reading is a habit that should be instilled in children from an early age so that it becomes a routine activity. And it’s even better when parents set an example for the child and read books themselves.

But why do young people read less?

There are many reasons. Among them, there is insufficient knowledge about books. Many people think that books are only boring and sad. Also, many parents make the mistake of inventing reading a book as a punishment for the child’s mistakes.

How can we influence this situation?

Only by our own example and by promoting a culture of reading. In no case should we persuade people to do something. It will only have the opposite effect. Young people need to want to read themselves.

Now it is worth reading books to get acquainted with Ukrainian classics. Their works are our history. We need to read these works and become more and more knowledgeable.
