Hi guys, I’m gonna tell you a story that has happened to me recently. I guess you had the same issue (but now I have found the solution, hurray!). Have a seat and bring your magnifiers!

The problem is the book of one popular philosopher. No, neither the author, no the discussed subject! The extremely small circulation of Ukrainian translation is. There’re no copies in the publishing house, no e-books or audio. Oh, and I don’t speak French to read the original. And I don’t have much money to order the English version too…

Someone could tell me, “C’mon, there are a lot of flea markets in Ukraine!” and you’re right. But not in my small village… Furthermore, in the local library, no one could help me: we never had this author before. So I pulled myself together and… opened a laptop.

Google search persistently ignored my request, even the quotation marks in the search bar (like this: “Author” buy “book name”) didn’t work. Then I checked all the online bookstores where I previously ordered other titles. NOTHING.

With a heavy heart, I took a phone and opened the app on one popular marketplace. There you can even find dragon eggs, but their cost will be sky-high. Seeing the four-numbered price tag (for 150 pages!) made me immediately close the app. I was desperate.

My last try was to contact the translator, but, unfortunately, he didn’t even have his printed copy during the work on the title (the roaring nineties, ultra economy, you know). The last hope flopped.

I wrote to publishers for another week. Maybe there was one book left in the warehouse somewhere, but no, there was not! And then a blessing came upon me. One day I opened Facebook and remembered that I was subscribed to some book exchange group. I have never written so fast before.

In this small group (less than 100 participants), there were several copies of the right book for once! Even for half the price. I mentally thanked the book gods and ordered one, happily paying three times more. The postal gods must have heard my prayers, too, so they sent the book a day early. I felt like Sherlock Holmes.

This is how the confusing story turned out! I suggest that you should shorten the search route: write in the comments below which book you are looking for! Maybe you’ll get lucky, too =)
