(article)

The publishing house ‘KM-Books’ dates back to 2015. It specializes in publishing translations of foreign literature and children’s and adult literature by modern Ukrainian authors into Ukrainian.

The assortment of ‘KM-Books Publishing Group’ includes many different genres of book products — fiction, business books, non-fiction, popular science, educational and developmental, and many others.

The publishing house’s portfolio includes Ukrainian-language publications by such world-famous writers as Harper Lee, Neil Gaiman, John Green, Hanya Yanagihara, George R.R. Martin, Robert Galbraith (pseudonym Joanne K. Rowling), Liane Moriarty, Charles Bukowski, Michael Dobbs, Frederic Beigbeder, John Steinbeck, William Faulkner; world bestsellers, non-fiction series books — works by Donald Trump, Jared Diamond, Richard Branson, Gordon Ramsay, Robin Sharma, Richard Koch and many others.

The most popular books of educational and developmental character as well as children’s fiction of ‘KM-Books’ are the world-famous series ‘Diary of a wimp’ by Jeff Kinney and the series of books by David Williams.

‘KM-Books’ monitors the publishing market and publishes world bestsellers and current book novelties. For example, the same book was released together with the release of the movie ‘The Killers of the Flower Full.’ To please its readers, the publishing house raffled off movie tickets and new publications among them.

In addition to the main activity, ‘KM-Books’ also conducts large-scale literary contests, in which everyone who is engaged in writing can take part. The winning authors receive a monetary award, the opportunity to publish their work and cooperate with the publishing house. Thus, in 2018, as a result of the competition, the fantasy novel ‘Lazarus’ by the Kyiv author Svitlana Taratorina and two teenage novels — ‘The City of Painters’ by Serhiy Vdovenko and ‘When the Cherry Blossoms’ by Volodymyr Koval were published.

The publishing house has its own chain of ‘Bukva’ bookstores. It already has 30 bookstores, and they continue to actively open in various cities: Bucha, Lviv, Zvyagel, Zhytomyr, Kyiv. Even in the conditions of war, they optimized their business and worked efficiently.

One of the offices of ‘KM-Books’ is located on the third floor of the ‘Bukva’ bookstore. It is very cozy and spacious. However, there are not many workers on site, because many of them still haven’t returned from abroad due to the war and are working remotely [1; 2; 3].
