Report on the concert of young Ukrainian artists in ‘Mad Cat’

(report reportage)

On 12 October at 16 in Kyiv, there was a concert of young Ukrainian artists that took place at the Mad Cat. Seven artists performed there, including Vichaii, tudy-sudy i smert, Red Eye, Benyky, Ihor Kaydash, and Dianic. The event was attended by about 100 people.

The room with the stage wasn’t huge but had two floors. There was a seating area with beanbag chairs on the right, a bar on the left, and a stage on the right. There was also a terrace outside, where people could relax in the open air in between performances. The event lasted until 10 pm. During this time, the artists managed to play up to 6 songs each. Some of the performers presented tracks that are yet to be released. The audience actively supported the young artists and asked them to sing an encore. The guests also had the opportunity to talk to the performers, as they were open to communication outside the stage.

Despite all the friendly atmosphere, a little more than two weeks after the concert, it turned out that the organizers had not paid the performers their fees. This was reported by the lead singer of the band Despair on his Instagram and Telegram pages. As of 12 November, some of the artists have finally received their fees.
