(derailed fairy tale)

In ancient times, in the land of the Dreamy Mountains, there lived a beautiful princess named Aurora. From the moment she was born, she was gifted with enchanting beauty and charm, but a black wizard named Morgan, who came to visit the palace, said that her beauty was cursed, so she would die as soon as she turned seventeen.

The princess’s father was very outraged and immediately drove the wizard away and ordered his servants to protect his daughter from all harm. He dreamed of a daughter for a very long time, but his wife could not get pregnant. So they turned to dark magic. After a secret ceremony, the prince learned the good news that he was going to become a father. This made his kingdom a little happier.

On Aurora’s birthday, the royal family organized a huge celebration, which brought together guests from all over the kingdom. A fabulous big cake with an enchanted needle was placed on the festive table. As soon as the princess took a bite of the cake, she fell into a deep sleep.

The princess’s parents realized that black magic had taken their child. They went to the black wizard to ask for help. Morgan just shook his head and said:

“I can only deceive black magic. You know that asking the dark forces to help is very dangerous. I can give you a rite and you can exchange your daughter’s life for your own.”

The parents were ready to do everything to save their daughter, so after writing down the ritual, they went to their kingdom to wait for the night. As soon as the stars shone in the black sky, the prince and princess went to the Secret Garden. There was a magical place of power there that would allow them to perform the rite. When they found this place, they saw a needle in the grass. The parents began to argue about who would give their lives. The princess grabbed the needle and tried to prick her finger with it, but the prince would not let her. And suddenly they felt pain: while they were trying to snatch the needle from each other, they accidentally pricked themselves with it and fell dead to the ground.

Aurora woke up at the same moment. For a few seconds she tried to realize where she was. Servants burst into her room and brought her bad news: if the princess woke up, it meant that one of her parents had managed to exchange their lives. The princess burst into tears and ordered her parents to be taken to their rooms.

So a month of the princess’s sad life passed. She traveled half the kingdom in search of help, but the wizards only shrugged and sympathized with the girl’s grief. A few days later, she received a letter from a neighboring kingdom. Prince Alan heard about Aurora’s trouble and wanted to help her. In his kingdom there lived a white wizard who could try to help the princess’s parents.

Aurora told him to get ready to go and began to pack. She really hoped that she could help her parents and save them from the dark magic…
