(Derailed fairy tale)

In a distant kingdom, where eternal sleep bound the palace, a prince made his way through thorns and thickets to wake Sleeping Beauty. His heart beat fast when he saw her, the princess lying in the radiant light as if from a legend. He leaned down and kissed her, waiting for their ‘and they lived happily ever after’ to come after that.

But as soon as her eyes were opened, the princess did not begin to thank the prince, as was supposed in all fairy tales, she did not even pay attention to him for a while. The princess got up from her bed, examined herself and the surroundings. Only then did she notice the prince.

The prince began to tell the princess how beautiful she was and that he would like to marry her. He told how difficult it was for him to get to the princess’s bedroom and how many young handsome men tried to do it before him. He told the princess the whole truth about the witch who cast the spell and how long the princess slept.

The prince asked for the hand and heart of the princess, but she only looked at him blankly, the thought flashed in her head that a hundred years ago she could have died as a young girl who had not seen this world and knew almost nothing about it. Suddenly the princess got up and ran.

Wasting no time, she left the palace, where everyone was just beginning to wake up, and disappeared into the distant mountains. Along the way, she met old wizards, brave travelers, and even dragons, who, as it turned out, were not so evil. No castles, no princes and no weddings – just endless freedom and adventure.

The prince remained in the castle, not understanding what had happened. And the princess, finally waking up, set out to find what her soul really longed for.
