On November 27, 2024, the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University hosted Yevhen Nyschuk – a People’s Artist of Ukraine and Minister of Culture during the Revolution of Dignity.

At the beginning of the event, Yevhen shared his insights about the Maidan events. Being an active participant, he unveiled new details of these well-known historical moments. Thanks to activists like him, the Maidan endured during those turbulent times. It was the beginning of a new historical era for Ukraine, and it is vital to remember those who fought for freedom.

Yevhen also shared the story of his journey to becoming the Minister of Culture during the Revolution of Dignity. He was chosen for his courage and strong ideas that were especially significant back then. He highlighted the role of students, including those from the Grinchenko University, in these historic events.

Following his talk, the People’s Artist conducted a master class for students specializing in “Drama and Film Acting.” The students showcased their performances, and Yevhen provided constructive feedback. Right on stage, the students had the opportunity to implement his advice.

In conclusion, Yevhen Nyschuk spoke on the current challenges faced by theater and cinema in wartime and emphasized that “art heals and gives hope.” The students were deeply moved and kept him on stage with prolonged applause.
