On November 28, 2024, thanks to our lecturer, Vyacheslav Kozak, we were able to get to ‘Public.’ The National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (abbreviated as UASC) or ‘Public Broadcasting’ is a Ukrainian public broadcasting company, including Ukrainian radio and national channels too.

First, we visited ‘Ukrainian Radio,’ where our teacher had worked for almost 30 years. They told us about the history of ‘Ukrainian Radio’ in its museum and even turned on a recording of last century’s broadcast. We also witnessed how the sound engineer and the presenter work during a news segment. The presenter not only read the message clearly, very clearly, and super clearly, but also managed to solve technical problems with the sound engineer.

Besides, we visited the floor of ‘Radio Promin’ and met Victoria Polchenko, who is the creative producer of the station. At that moment, I realized that she was exactly the kind of person who adores her profession; she told us about how ‘Radio Promin’ works and took us to the studio. Moreover, at the end of the tour, we went up to the floor where the “news house” is located, the studio where TV news is created.

We witnessed the creation of a news release, how the presenter read the text of the news live, and how the sound engineers and directors managed this release. The atmosphere of being in the studio was completely similar to the TV series ‘The Morning Show,’ but much more real, because we directly witnessed such an event that is ordinary for the employees, but incredible and magical for us.
