The Killing Potion

(article)

The Killing Potion’ is a book by the “Vikhola” publishing house, written by Volodymyr Sarkisyan, a writer and analytical chemist.

The book is dark green, the cover is made like a list, which well conveys the style of both the book and the author. It is also nice that there is a bookmark in the book itself.

Regarding the plot and style of the book: throughout the book you understand that the author is first and foremost a chemist and not a writer. This is not bad because the information here is verified and well systematized, everything is detailed enough and repeated terms are explained.

However, as a person who stopped understanding chemistry when alkanes, alkenes and alkynes started, it was really difficult for me because of the number of terms and chemical names.

Despite this, I read the book with pleasure; the examples given in the book pleasantly surprised me with their diversity, both from literature and from real life, and the advice in case of chemical attacks is really important in war conditions; this is useful information for everyone, which I hope no one will need.

My rating is 9/10.
