‘The Lord of the Rings’

(book review)

If  “the English-speaking world is divided into those who have read “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” and those who are going to read them,” today I have officially moved to the first type.

Well, it was great. Exciting and boring, happy and sad, and everything in the world at once. “The Lord of the Rings” is an immortal epic that takes readers to the mythical land of Middle-earth, where the forces of good and evil clash in a battle for the fate of the world. And the hobbits have to save the world again.

The hobbits ¾ are love. Strangely enough, it was the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, not “The Hobbit” themselves, that made me get to know these creatures better and better. They are ¾ a perfect example of how even a “small bolt” can change the fate of tens, hundreds, thousands for the better. Although, in fact, it is enough to make a difference to just one. The hobbits are perfect in their imperfection.

Triggers. There are so many moments that resonate with the current war. And it’s not so much about the events, but rather about emotions and attitudes towards them. Obviously, the world is fictional, but the monsters are sometimes real. “The Lord of the Rings” brought me back to reality every time. And no, it’s not a bad thing, it’s a plus for those who want a little reflection and comparison.

Is it exciting or boring? Both. For me, the battle scenes with many characters were sometimes incomprehensible and difficult, as were the long descriptions of nature. However, a little suffering is worth the feeling you get after reading it.

My rating is 9.5/10.
