BEVZA is a Ukrainian women’s clothing brand founded in Ukraine in 2006. The core design principle of BEVZA is the combination of minimalism and luxury. Sophisticated, clean silhouettes and expert tailoring form the heart of each collection. The same concept was used in the Spring-Summer 2025 collection titled ‘Dew on the Sun.’
The collection’s name is derived from Ukraine’s National Anthem — “Our enemies will perish, like dew on the sun,” which embodies the cultural heritage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.
The author of this manifesto, Svitlana Bevza, the founder of BEVZA, masterfully works with white color and symbols, delicately promoting Ukrainian national heritage. The exhibition, open to the public, took place on September 8-9, 2024, and was specially prepared for ELLE.UA by Olenka Kotyk. It impressed me a lot with its elegance and exclusiveness.
A key feature of the collection is the use of minimalism combined with Ukrainian motifs. Original, timeless jewelry, shaped like dewdrops and gold ornaments in the form of wheat ears, showcase Ukrainian symbolism and give each look unique meaning. The collection blends unique cultural heritage with modern aesthetics, as updated Ukrainian motifs are yet another signature element of BEVZA. The founder and creative director, Svitlana Bevza, explores national heritage and skillfully reinterprets ethnic symbols and cultural codes in a contemporary context.
Fabrics such as organza, viscose, and wool were used for comfortable and lightweight wear. The loose, architectural cuts combined with classic style work well in the outfits, creating layered, dynamic looks that are easy to adapt to different contexts. The architectural skirts and new interpretations of classic tops with a focus on functionality highlight current trends that combine style and comfort, making the collection even more unique and relevant.
Viscose trousers pair perfectly with any wardrobe elements, and the bodysuit, which has become indispensable since 2018, is made from jersey, wool, and eco-friendly bamboo this season. A new tunic offers a modern take on a cover-up, ideally complementing an evening gown, slip dress, or mini dress, creating a festive look. The unisex clip, featuring the symbol of a wheat ear, can be used as a tie clip or as a decorative accessory for jackets and blouses.
The signature BEVZA square, which has long been a part of many of the brand’s collections, is now a key element in the tops. Additionally, the multifunctional dress with a straight, loose cut is adorned with a necklace-like clasp. The delicate texture of silk organza evokes associations with clouds floating across the clear sky, emphasizing the lightness and airiness of the collection.
The ‘Dew on the Sun’ collection highlights a trend towards deeper use of symbolism in modern fashion. This approach combines innovation with tradition, appealing to a global audience while leaving room for individual interpretation. The fashion trends of 2024 are reflected through detailed craftsmanship, expressive textures, and a focus on cultural identity.
