The Rainmaker

(magic realism story)

In a dry and barren land, there was a man who could make rain. He would dance and sing, and the clouds would gather, bringing much-needed rain to the parched earth.

The people of the land were in awe of his power and worshiped him as a god. One day, a young boy asked the rainmaker how he did it. The rainmaker replied, “I don’t make the rain, I just ask for it. The rain comes because the earth needs it.” The boy realized that the rainmaker’s power came not from himself, but from his connection to the earth. From then on, he too danced and sang, asking for rain and celebrating the life-giving power of the earth.
