Ukrainian Folk Tales to Strengthen Cultural Ties Between Ukraine and Germany Through Bilingual Editions

(article)

The ‘D’Ukraine’ publishing house will translate six Ukrainian folk tales into German and publish a bilingual illustrated edition in both book and audiobook formats. The project aims to strengthen cultural ties between Ukraine and Germany.

The publication is also intended for Ukrainian children who were forced to leave their homeland due to the war. Bilingual books help children collaborate and learn from each other. Thanks to these bilingual editions, they have the opportunity to learn German, which makes it easier for them to integrate into a new environment.

The project is designed for schoolchildren aged 6 to 12. In Ukraine, these books can be used in German language classes, and in Germany, they will be distributed in schools, libraries, and refugee centers.

The publication is funded by donations.
