At long last, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University hosted a competition for second-year students of the Publishing and Editing programme to make a book with their own hands as part of the Polygraphy discipline.

Maria Pedchenko and Valeria Korob won among the 23 participants of the VSRb-2-23 group. They made hardback notebooks. The voting was anonymous among the students of the group.

“I was incredibly excited to take part in this competition as it was a great opportunity to showcase my creative skills. It took a lot of effort to prepare: I chose the materials carefully and paid attention to the smallest details to create a unique work. When they announced my victory, I was pleasantly surprised,” said Valeria Korob after the competition.

Another winner, Maria Pedchenko, also shared her printing experience:

“The book was not as easy to design as it might seem at first glance. It probably took the most time to sew the pages together. It was also the most difficult to cut them evenly without a special machine. But despite all this, the process of creating it was interesting and exciting. I was happy to take part in the competition.”
