(short story)

Ten-year-old Tanya arrived at her grandmother’s village with her mother. Grandmother’s house has a special smell and there are always many pleasant paintings, exciting embroideries and passe photographs. Tanya walked through the rooms, exploring everything as if it were her first time, because the last time she was there was when she was five and remembered almost nothing. Then she called her mother, “Mom, mom, what is this?” Tanya was pointing to a large piano covered with a cloth.

Mother came closer and removed the cloth. She had a flashback. She remembered how, as a ten-year-old girl, like her daughter now, she used to play concerts on this piano for all the neighbors. But then her interests changed, and since then no one has played this instrument.

Later, grandmother came into the room and, together with Tanya`s mother, began to play this elegant instrument. Tanya`s soul was enchanted with the sparkling sounds of the old piano… It flew far-far away…She forgot about everything and asked her Mom…and Grandmom…to keep on playing.
