My Sweetest Memories

(Essay)

What is your favorite memory from childhood? While you’re thinking about it, I will tell you about mine.

My favorite memories from childhood are connected with my grandparents and sea.
When I was little, we used to go to Evpatoria in the Crimea to spend summer holidays there. There was this holiday camp with a huge green territory, little wooden houses, big canteen and disco place (just an open-air space near canteen with stereo system).

This camp was located quite far from the sea shore, so I loved it when we went there every day. And every day our path was full of fun. We took photos with goats and sheep, we climbed on huge rocks that were on the way to the sea, my grandfather tried to teach me the multiplication table…The same was on our way back: the multiplication table, huge rocks, and photos with goats and sheep…

I remember how we went back home through a local market. I always wanted to buy gummies, but my grandmother was telling me that it was not good for my health. I was supposed to be a health-nut…

There were a lot of great people: they were open-minded and funny.
Now, because of the political situation, we don’t go there anymore. To tell you the truth, I miss that place. It was so cozy and sunny, and it gave me my sweetest memories…

P.S. Eventually, I bought those gummies and learnt the multiplication table…
