Volunteers invite to donate books for Ukrainian children who have found refuge in Poland

(news report)

In Vinnytsia (a city in the center of Ukraine), volunteers initiated a donation of Ukrainian-language books for children and teenagers studying in Poland. This was reported by the activist organization ‘City of Content.’

Today, about 200,000 Ukrainian children are studying in Polish schools, and 540,000 are studying in Ukrainian schools online.

Previously, other volunteers in other countries had to print copies at their own expense. So, in order to relieve the burden on colleagues, ‘City of Content’ decided to gather books in the homeland and transfer them abroad. For now, there are more than 100 publications, from the simple ABC to the iconic Harry Potter book series.

We’re collecting fairy tales, educational literature, books for teenagers… because children of different ages have left… Of course, they learn Polish, but it’s also important that they don’t forget Ukrainian. And they can read their favorite books in their native language… It’s important that they keep in touch with Ukraine…’ summed up the volunteer.

Everyone can bring their books. All publications will be sent to Poland on May 31. ‘The City of Content’ is waiting for your donations.
