This isn’t just a documentary chronicle. It is a sincere expression of human agony. This image, captured through the lens of a camera, shows the terrible truth of war, where there are neither heroes, no winners, only victims.

I thought it wouldn’t hurt to watch. You’ve already experienced and are experiencing these emotions in reality, but you simply weren’t in that hell for 20 days. You live near these torture chambers, you know about them, you know about the victims. You don’t know anyone, but you’ll remember forever the names of those children who died innocently.

Angelina. 4 years old. She wore pajamas with unicorns on them. Perhaps she dreamed of her parents giving her a beautiful dollhouse. But she can’t dream anymore…

A boy, a 16-year-old. Playing football peacefully with his friends. He could have become a great football player. But he can’t play anymore…

Someone just dreamed of a happy family, of a cozy home filled with love and children’s laughter. Their dreams were shattered under the hail of enemy shells.

I wish I could look away and not know about this too. The world forces it upon you. It pushes you forward, into deadly events. This is truly a courageous journalistic feat. Better to know this painful truth than to swallow the lies they – the enemies – want to feed us.

But is it really worth it when lives are the price of truth? When thousands of people die, and millions live in fear?

This Oscar win is just a symbol. A symbol that the world hears us. But we need not only its support, we need its help. We need help to stop this war, to protect our people, to build a new life.

Will it be the same as before? No, never. The wounds of war are too deep. But we must find the strength within ourselves to live on. To live for those who died. To live to remember. To live to triumph.
