The Grown-ups

(humorous story)

‘Are you mad at me?’ the voice of a dark-haired girl suddenly broke the silence of the room.

‘I’m sorry?’ the other girl choked on the coffee she was drinking at the time.

‘Well, you deleted me from best friends on Instagram…’ the dark-haired girl finally turned to her companion.

The girl on the bed raised her eyebrows in surprise. The room fell silent again.

‘It’s just so childish, I mean, to delete your close friends on Instagram… If I’ve offended you, we can talk like adults!’ the dark-haired girl spoke again, making the girl on the bed roll her eyes in annoyance.

‘Oh yeah, that’s very childish. Grown-ups don’t do that. Grown-ups draw conclusions based on whether they’ve seen a story on Instagram,’ the other girl opened her laptop without looking at the other person.

‘Are you being rude to me?!’

‘Who? Me? Oh no, how could you think…’ the girl behind the laptop could hardly contain her laughter.

‘I don’t deserve to be treated this way!’ the dark-haired girl almost shouted, holding back her anger.

‘Oh, really? I should take that into account next time.’

Suddenly, another girl entered the room: ‘Girls, there’s a… Did you guys have a fight?’ The red-haired girl stopped in the middle of the room, looking at her neighbours.

The girl who was sitting on the bed smiled brightly: ‘Oh come on, it’s so childish – to quarrel over nothing! It’s not about grown-ups like us!’
