Cosmic Odyssey

(book review)

One of the fascinating fiction topics is fantasy, and I have just recently started reading a fantasy novel. Modern Ukrainian literature is full of various genres and forms of work. And if, at first glance, we choose a book by its cover, then inside we may be disappointed or, on the contrary, incredibly delighted!

The book ‘Roots of the Universe,’ written by Oleksiy Dekan, was a pleasant surprise for me. A fantasy novel in which the author tried to build a relationship between man and artificial intelligence. At first, it does not sound fantastic to us, comparing it with the development of modern technologies. But the harmonious symbiosis of genres in the book convinces us of the following: diving into each time new unpredictable stories, which are not initially connected by a single plot line, in the final canvas make us think about human existence.

What do I like about this book? All. It contains ghost stories, science fiction, and even biblical stories. A kind of cosmic Odyssey that makes us think about the universal roots that connect our past, present and future eras. Also, the author himself tries to understand the meaning of human existence, but he does not provide any answers. This gives us time for our personal reflections, where the flight of fantasy is completely free.

It is a completely fictional text with many literary devices and small but significant details. I am happy to recommend that everyone should read the book ‘Roots of the Universe.’ You will feel like the last person lost in space, who has been lied to all his life about his true existence and essence. If it doesn’t scare you, then you can start your journey from the space station, which hides many unknown secrets. My rating is 9.5/10.
