It’s an unforgettable tale about transformations and second chances.

A book will tell us a story about the proprietor of a bookstore on a remote island Alice. This island is separated from ordinary municipal life by a ferry voyage. A protagonist suffers from the loss of his sweetheart, however,  until now he works in their general “paradisial place” – the bookstore  ‘Island Books.’ ‘There`s something kind of heroic about being a bookkeeper.’ Though the place was not very popular, it was still kept afloat. One night a really terrible thing happens – one of the rarest editions of the first collection of poems of Edgar Allan Poe were stolen from A.J’s  home. But there was even more! A two-year-old girl was left in his bookstore with a note that this little girl adored books. How these events are connected with each other and how this combination will turn around, you will know just only after reading this book.

I can call this book a real pill from a bad mood. This book taught me that you should not be upset if one of the paths you chose proved to be wrong since you could always go back a few steps and make another choice. Also, the first impression can be incorrect because there is a smorgasbord of factors that influence us and it’s hard to control them. The most important lesson, I can get out of this book, is that it is incredibly terrible to take the first step, but if you do it, you will feel relief and the support of thousand winds.

I can advise this book to those, who love books and try to know as much as possible about them. Each chapter of this book will be like an Easter egg, the book has so many unexpected niches! Besides, this book will be interesting for those who look for happiness in simple and ordinary things. It taught me a bit. The same will be with you. ‘The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry’ is a good life manual.
